Gail Soutar joins as Head of Business Services

James Milne Chartered Accountants is delighted to welcome Gail Soutar to the team, as Head of Business Services at the Inverurie office.

Gail has extensive experience of business financial services, having worked as Finance Manager for James Dun’s House in Aberdeen and Glasgow and for BAA at Aberdeen Airport.

Born in Inverurie, Gail is returning to her home town and is looking forward to working with the team, managing the firm’s bookkeeping service offering, as well as its payroll services.

Gail joined James Milne in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic, and so is having to acquaint herself with colleagues and clients by telephone, email and conference call.

She said: “It has been exciting to get to know the James Milne clients and interesting to work with such a diverse range of businesses. The Inverurie office manages bookkeeping and payroll services for individuals and businesses across Aberdeenshire as well as in the city, many of whom have been with the firm a long time.

“I have been putting together monthly and quarterly bookkeeping records for our clients, and I am also working with the payroll team who have been particularly busy helping our clients with the government’s coronavirus business support schemes.

“I have been into the Inverurie office to collect files but look forward to when we can all work together in one place.”

Partner Michael Fotheringham commented: “Gail is a very important new member of our team, and it is a shame that she has begun her time with James Milne in the middle of this pandemic. She and her team have managed very well working at home, maintaining our reputation for excellent service levels despite what is happening in the world around us.

“We are lucky at James Milne to have a very dedicated and experienced team, and Gail’s appointment will only strengthen our business services support for our clients across north-east Scotland.”
