Richard Christie graduated with a business studies and accountancy degree from the University of Edinburgh.
He joined the firm in 2001 and went on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant to continue his family’s involvement in professional services.
Having also served with one of Britain’s ‘big four’ firms, Richard returned to his roots with James Milne as an associate in 2007 and became a partner in 2009.
With a diverse client base, from sole traders to limited companies and charities, Richard is also qualified to conduct audit work. He divides his time between the Aberdeen and Banchory offices.
Brought up on Deeside, now settled on Donside, Richard is a keen golfer with a low handicap but is always looking to improve his game on the challenging courses throughout the north east.

Jean is an Accounts Manager at James Milne, Banchory and has been with James Milne since 2018. Jean helps the practice’s clients get their accounts and tax affairs in order.
Jean said: “We are lucky to work with lovely clients which makes my job interesting. I also have wonderful colleagues which makes coming to work a joy. You can’t get much better than that.”

Tax Manager Margaret Dornan has been with James Milne since 2018, having previously worked for Mike Williamson’s Banchory practice for 28 years. Prior to working in accountancy, Margaret worked for HMRC for 10 years, so you can count on Margaret when it comes to looking after your tax liabilities.
When she is not working, Margret enjoys gardening, catching up with family and friends and reading the latest James Patterson novel.
Margaret said: “I am proud to work at James Milne with a highly experienced and knowledgeable team, and our office on the outskirts of Banchory has a pleasant countryside outlook and allows easy parking for all clients and visitors”.

Introducing our hard-working team members, starting with April Fowler, who is based at our Banchory office.
April has been working at James Milne’s Banchory practice for two years, and is responsible for preparing financial accounts, VAT returns and assisting clients with daily queries. April has a BA honours degree in Accounting & Finance and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2015.
April said: “I love the variety of clients that we work with, which means that no two days are the same. We have a great team in Banchory, with wonderful views across the countryside. When I’m not at work I am busy looking after my 3-year-old daughter who keeps me on my toes and always makes me laugh!”

Introducing Bill Urquhart, who has been with James Milne since the firm opened its Banchory office in 2016. Having worked in banking for over 36 years and accountancy for more than a decade, Bill brings extensive experience to the team. When not working, proud grandfather Bill can be found at the touchline supporting his grandchildren playing football across the north-east.
